This artwork by Robert Longo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2018. In the Horizon | Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Study for Hot Sun sold for USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,403.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Longo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Leo) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,575,000.00 (€ 1,212,657.84).
