This artwork by Robert Levrac-Tournières achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2014. In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work Portrait of Pierre de la Roche, bust-length, in an ochre jacket and a purple wrap, with a feathered cap sold for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 27,133.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Levrac-Tournières - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Blue Velvet Jacket With Gold Frogging And A Purple Mantle, Gesturing Towards A Book On A Marble Table, which sold at auction in December 2015 for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 84,872.00).
