Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included this untitled work by Robert Griffiths Hodgins. It changed hands for a price of GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,280.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Griffiths Hodgins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Balancing Act: a triptych (2003), which sold at auction in March 2020 for GBP 62,562.00 (€ 70,645.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Robert Griffiths Hodgins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 19.125,00 (€ 22.280,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Griffiths Hodgins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Balancing Act: a triptych (2003) beobachtet, die im März 2020 für GBP 62.562,00 (€ 70.645,31) versteigert wurde.
