Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Moorish Scribe by Robert Gavin was sold in the The Scottish Sale auction at Christies in London in October 2006. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,860.99). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Gavin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rebekah giving water to Abraham's camels, which sold at auction in June last year for GBP 25,500.00 (€ 29,623.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Moorish Scribe von Robert Gavin wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion The Scottish Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.860,99) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Gavin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rebekah giving water to Abraham's camels beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für GBP 25.500,00 (€ 29.623,75) versteigert wurde.
