In October 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Fishing on the rocks in the Highlands by Robert Gallon. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,154.08) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Gallon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A woman and child crossing a bridge by a lake in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 27,025.00 (€ 42,837.95).

Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing on the rocks in the Highlands von Robert Gallon zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.154,08) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Gallon erzielen.
