Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A peaceful river view with a farm and church beyond by Robert Gallon. The price achieved of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,493.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Gallon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A woman and child crossing a bridge by a lake in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 27,025.00 (€ 42,837.95).

Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A peaceful river view with a farm and church beyond von Robert Gallon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.493,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Gallon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A woman and child crossing a bridge by a lake im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.025,00 (€ 42.837,95).
