Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz, which included the work A Spanish Courtyard by Robert Banks. The auction ended at the price of GBP 500.00 (€ 555.05), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Banks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ‘Marforio’ Memorial To Pope Clement Xii in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,550.55).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Spanish Courtyard von Robert Banks zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 555,05) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Banks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ‘Marforio’ Memorial To Pope Clement Xii im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.550,55).
