Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Riduan Tomkins was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 203.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Riduan Tomkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figure and Figure in a Pool in July 2012 with an auction result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,248.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Riduan Tomkins im Juli 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 250,00 (€ 203,00) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Riduan Tomkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figure and Figure in a Pool im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.248,07).
