Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work The Gymnast - State I by Richard MacDonald. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,802.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Richard MacDonald have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2021 the work The Gymnast was auctioned for USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,241.53).
