Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Portrait of W. H. Woodhouse, small quarter-length, in a grey coat and blue bow tie, painted oval by Richard Buckner. The price achieved of GBP 564.00 (€ 920.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Buckner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Sir Charles Morgan Robinson Morgan, 1St Baron Tredegar, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Black Coat And Red Waistcoat, Holding A Riding Crop, In A Landscape in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 10,157.50 (€ 14,611.51).
