The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,184.08), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by René Peyrol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cattle watering by a stream, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,820.38).

Für andere Arbeiten von René Peyrol mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cattle watering by a stream beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.820,38) versteigert wurde.
