Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 334.60 (€ 481.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by René Billotte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Falaises d'Etretat, which sold at auction in November 2007 for EUR 1,750.00.

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 334,60 (€ 481,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von René Billotte mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Falaises d'Etretat beobachtet, die im November 2007 für EUR 1.750,00 versteigert wurde.
