Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work A mediterranean coastal landscape with merchants at a quay, shipping in a bay beyond by Reinier Nooms for GBP 59,750.00 (€ 95,303.57). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Reinier Nooms have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2013 by the work Dutch Ships Awaiting Repair On The Ij At Amsterdam at GBP 80,500.00 (€ 96,829.02).
