Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Words of wisdom by Reinhard Sebastian Zimmermann was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art auction at Christies in London in April 2011. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,660.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Reinhard Sebastian Zimmermann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Das nahende Gewitter, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 10,000.00.
