Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2004 Christies in London held the auction At Home - British & Continental Pictures and Works on Paper, which included the work The Three-Masted Elginshire Riding The Waves by Reginald Arthur Borstel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 211.50 (€ 309.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Reginald Arthur Borstel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The English Barque Earl Cadogan In Coastal Waters in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,781.80).
