Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction Master Drawings from the Oppé Collection, which included the work A view of a town, traditionally identified as Paris by Raymond Lafage. The price achieved of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,699.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raymond Lafage - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figure With A Staff Resting On A Plinth, which sold at auction in January 2016 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,155.83).
