Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work The chimney-sweep by Raphaël Kirchner. It changed hands for a price of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,448.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. Other works by Raphaël Kirchner have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2009 the work Seated nude; Girl in white breeches; and Blue stockings was auctioned for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,021.91).
