Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Seated Figure by Randolph Schwabe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 211.50 (€ 327.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Randolph Schwabe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gypsy Girl Kneeling; With 14 Drawings By The Same Hand in March 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,893.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seated Figure von Randolph Schwabe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 211,50 (€ 327,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Randolph Schwabe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gypsy Girl Kneeling; With 14 Drawings By The Same Hand im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.893,49).
