This artwork by Ramon Pichot Soler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2011. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work El divan azul sold for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,256.00) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ramon Pichot Soler; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Barques à Cadaques sold at auction in September 2003 with the realized price of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 3,787.35).
