Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Painted In 2004) by Ram Kumar. The price achieved of HKD 180,000.00 (€ 183,815.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ram Kumar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vagabond, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 1,161,000.00 (€ 734,577.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Painted In 2004) von Ram Kumar zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 180.000,00 (€ 183.815,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ram Kumar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vagabond beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 1.161.000,00 (€ 734.577,67) versteigert wurde.
