Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of Roderick Peter George Denman (b.1894) as a boy by Ralph Peacock was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 477.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Peacock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Irene and Helen, full-length, in white dresses in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,018.35).
