Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dancer on a Bench by Ralph Brown was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,231.00 (€ 2,566.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Girl Sitting On A Wall in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,414.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dancer on a Bench von Ralph Brown wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.231,00 (€ 2.566,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Girl Sitting On A Wall im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.414,45).
