Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Rafael Barradas was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,252.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rafael Barradas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hombre en la taberna (from the series Los magníficos) in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 104,500.00 (€ 80,322.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Rafael Barradas im November 2009 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.252,50) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rafael Barradas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hombre en la taberna (from the series Los magníficos) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 104.500,00 (€ 80.322,83).
