The work Candide, Dr Pangloss and Cacambo by Quentin Blake was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018. It achieved a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,083.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen

Die Arbeit Candide, Dr Pangloss and Cacambo von Quentin Blake kam im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.083,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
