Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures & Drawings, which included the work A river flowing through an overgrown valley by Charlotte Bonaparte. It changed hands for a price of GBP 660.00 (€ 957.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charlotte Bonaparte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An album of landscape and topographical views of Torquay and its environs including: A view near Torquay; Ivy Bridge; Watercolour between Thunder Hole & Parington Sands; Thunder Hole taken in a boat; Cavern east of Rivermead Sands; Cockington; Torabb, which sold at auction in October 2002 for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,602.1
