Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pierre Troubetzkoy could be acquired at Christies in London in October last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Churchill to Eden: The Collection of the Earl and Countess of Avon auction, the work Portrait Of Anthony Eden, 1St Earl Of Avon (1897-1977) As A Child changed hands for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,678.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Pierre Troubetzkoy have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2014 by the work Portrait of Edith, Marchioness of Londonderry, with Viscount Castlereagh at GBP 20,000.00 (€ 24,580.65).
