Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price

The work Variations on a Theme by Prasong Luemuang was worth HKD 562,500.00 (€ 61,629.44) to a buyer in July 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Prasong Luemuang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Distraction sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 94,234.96).

Die Arbeit Variations on a Theme von Prasong Luemuang war einem Käufer im Juli 2020 HKD 562.500,00 (€ 61.629,44) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Prasong Luemuang; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Distraction im November 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 94.234,96).
