This artwork by Placido Costanzi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2008. In the Important Old Master Paintings Part I And Part II auction, the work Christ And The Woman of Samaria; And Noli Me Tangere sold for USD 79,000.00 (€ 50,745.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Placido Costanzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Narcissus And Echo, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 204,000.00 (€ 150,887.57).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Placido Costanzi erzielte im April 2008 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Part I And Part II wurde die Arbeit Christ And The Woman of Samaria; And Noli Me Tangere für USD 79.000,00 (€ 50.745,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Placido Costanzi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Narcissus And Echo beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 204.000,00 (€ 150.887,57) versteigert wurde.
