This artwork by Pilloo Pochkhanawala achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Time Past sold for USD 81,900.00 (€ 69,743.68) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pilloo Pochkhanawala have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Atomic Couple in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 277,200.00 (€ 328,407.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pilloo Pochkhanawala erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Time Past für USD 81.900,00 (€ 69.743,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pilloo Pochkhanawala auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Atomic Couple im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 277.200,00 (€ 328.407,13).
