each sheet inscribed in brown ink, lower centre, with the names of the Allegory: Medicina, Poesia, Musica and Primavera

Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Online, which included the work Four Allegorical Figures: Medicina, Poesia, Primavera, Musica by Pietro de Angelis. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,410.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pietro de Angelis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Allegorische Darstellung in November 2021 with an auction result of EUR 16,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Four Allegorical Figures: Medicina, Poesia, Primavera, Musica von Pietro de Angelis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.410,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pietro de Angelis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Allegorische Darstellung im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 16.250,00.
