The work L'Abisso by Pietro Canonica was sold in the XIXth Century Paintings and Sculptures auction at Sothebys in Milan in December 2008. The result of EUR 4,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Canonica - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Italian Dopo Il Voto (After The Vows), which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 21,250.00 (€ 13,649.79).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit L'Abisso von Pietro Canonica wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion XIXth Century Paintings and Sculptures bei Sothebys in Mailand versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 4.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Pietro Canonica mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Italian Dopo Il Voto (After The Vows) beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 21.250,00 (€ 13.649,79) versteigert wurde.
