Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Christ driving the money-changers from the temple by Pietro Antonio de' Pietri. The price achieved of GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,533.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pietro Antonio de' Pietri have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Birth of the Virgin in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,759.22).
