A top price for Pieter Francis Peters - as previously expected
In November 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism, which included the work A view of Istanbul with the Bosporus at sunset by Pieter Francis Peters. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 27,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A view of Istanbul with the Bosporus at sunset is the most expensive artwork by Pieter Francis Peters that we have observed at auctions so far.
