The work Susannah and the Elder by Pieter Defesche was sold in the Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries auction at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2011. The result of EUR 1,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Defesche - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work De kleuren van het oude stadje, which sold at auction in June 2008 for EUR 3,750.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Susannah and the Elder von Pieter Defesche wurde im März 2011 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 1.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Defesche mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit De kleuren van het oude stadje beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für EUR 3.750,00 versteigert wurde.
