Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Constellation by Piet Wiegman was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in July 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 239.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piet Wiegman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Thorn with a goat in June 2004 with an auction result of EUR 16,730.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Constellation von Piet Wiegman im Juli 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 239,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Piet Wiegman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Thorn with a goat im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 16.730,00.
