Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pierre-Marie Beyle could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art auction, the work A Japanese Woman with a Parasol changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,913.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre-Marie Beyle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Wedding Procession, which sold at auction in April 2014 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,024.51).
