Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Saint Michael Fighting the Dragon, from The Apocalypse, After Albrecht Dürer by Phoebe Anna Traquair was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 600.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,123.67). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Phoebe Anna Traquair achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reverie in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 21,312.50 (€ 23,665.71).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Saint Michael Fighting the Dragon, from The Apocalypse, After Albrecht Dürer von Phoebe Anna Traquair im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 600,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.123,67) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Phoebe Anna Traquair erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reverie im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.312,50 (€ 23.665,71).
