Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part II, which included the work Cup by Philip Guston. Here, the upper estimate of USD 800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 882,000.00 (€ 827,858.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Guston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Strong Light in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 24,393,000.00 (€ 21,611,588.55).
