In January 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Along a snowcovered stream by Petrus Paulus Schiedges. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,600.00 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Petrus Paulus Schiedges - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset over the beach of Scheveningen, with the Badhuis and the Paviljoen von Wied in the foreground, which sold at auction in October 2004 for EUR 20,315.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Along a snowcovered stream von Petrus Paulus Schiedges zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.600,00 und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Petrus Paulus Schiedges mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset over the beach of Scheveningen, with the Badhuis and the Paviljoen von Wied in the foreground beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für EUR 20.315,00 versteigert wurde.
