Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work February Fill Dike In Wigan by Peter Brook was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,540.16). Admittedly, works by Peter Brook have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calling For A Brew (With More Snow Coming) in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,035.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit February Fill Dike In Wigan von Peter Brook im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.540,16) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Brook auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calling For A Brew (With More Snow Coming) im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.035,56).
