Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Painting (Winter Landscape With Burning City) by Peter Booth. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 53,775.00 (€ 31,210.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Booth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Untitled, 2002, which sold at auction in November 2008 for AUD 168,000.00 (€ 86,633.69).
