Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Percy Gray achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the California Art auction, the work Monterey Cypress Perched on a Rocky Cliff sold for USD 14,025.00 (€ 12,703.80) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Percy Gray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eucalyptus Grove, Morning in June 2002 with an auction result of USD 74,090.00 (€ 75,172.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Percy Gray erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion California Art wurde die Arbeit Monterey Cypress Perched on a Rocky Cliff für USD 14.025,00 (€ 12.703,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Percy Gray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eucalyptus Grove, Morning im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.090,00 (€ 75.172,48).
