Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hand and Foot Chair by Pedro Friedeberg was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,455.37). Admittedly, works by Pedro Friedeberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vision y presagio del profeta Habakkuk in May last year with an auction result of USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26).
