In August 2006 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental and Russian Pictures, which included the work A monastery in the afternoon sun, Mallorca by Paul Riley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 720.00 (€ 1,070.69), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Riley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still life with pomegranate, which sold at auction in August 2006 for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,855.16).

Im August 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental and Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A monastery in the afternoon sun, Mallorca von Paul Riley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.070,69) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Riley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still life with pomegranate beobachtet, die im August 2006 für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.855,16) versteigert wurde.
