In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work Magnolia Denudata by Paul Osborne Jones. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 6,214.00 (€ 3,737.56), 38% above the upper estimate. Other works by Paul Osborne Jones have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,873.68) in May 2001 for the work Hagaromo (Magnolii Flora).
