Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Bassin des Pêcheurs, Ostende by Paul Mathieu was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. The auction ended at the price of EUR 3,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Mathieu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Belgian Bateau Lavoir in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,469.33).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Bassin des Pêcheurs, Ostende von Paul Mathieu wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 3.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Mathieu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Belgian Bateau Lavoir im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.469,33).
