Sold at the lower estimate price
The work French sharpening The Knife by Paul Grolleron was sold in the Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. The result of USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,637.87) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Grolleron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Après la bataille (Waterloo) in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,995.84).
