Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work French Cavalry And Austrian Volunteers Skirmishing In Mexico; Mexican Prisoners At A French Outpost, Mexico by Paul Léon Jazet for USD 38,400.00 (€ 29,922.86). This price was achieved in the auction Latin American Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Léon Jazet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Death of Lord Nelson, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 137,000.00 (€ 109,337.59).
