Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Paul Jean Hugues could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work Nature Morte changed hands for GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,122.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Other works by Paul Jean Hugues have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2004 by the work Study of an interior at GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,250.63).
