Upper estimate price exceeded by 41 %.
The work Idole Tahitienne by Paul Gauguin was sold in the Masterpieces from the Collection of Sam Josefowitz: A Lifetime of Discovery and Scholarship auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 352,800.00 (€ 405,112.41), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Gauguin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternité II in November last year with an auction result of USD 105,730,000.00 (€ 102,421,776.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Idole Tahitienne von Paul Gauguin wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Masterpieces from the Collection of Sam Josefowitz: A Lifetime of Discovery and Scholarship bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert.
